Visited Paadal Petra Kangalanathar Temple on 22nd, located at Aazhiyur Village near Kilvelur. Temple History Lord Murugan destroyed Sura Padman and his supporters to safeguard Devas. Due to the killings, he got acquired with Veerahathi Dosham. On Lord Shiva’s advice, Lord Murugan installed five Shiva Lingas to get rid of the sin of Killing Demons during Sura Samhara. It is believed that one of the Shivas Lingas was installed here. Hence this Temple is considered as one of the Pancha Kadambanur Temples. Pidari Amman helped Lord Murugan to do his worship without any disturbances. It is also believed that Goddess Pidari worshipped Lord Shiva here.
