Good for kids
Lovely village, takeaway only at the moment at the tearooms in the village but highly recommended when things get back to normal.

Many fun and even educational events take place in this historical site. The setting is unique and the atmosphere memorable. For families with kids and for couples alike. From re-enactments to firework nights, there is something for every occasion and taste.
Beautiful place, fantastic castle with loads of history. Well worth a visit and have a walk around the village, the church with all it's architectural stone work. Fancy a bite to eat, call into the tea rooms. At the old post office, or the black horse next door.
Visited on a foggy frosty December morning...all of which added to the ambience of such a great building. Sadly the inside was closed on our visit, but enjoyed walking around it. Good size parking area as well.
Sadly it was shut when I went (when the website and signs said it should be open) But I still had a nosey arround. Looks ace from the outside. Lots to explore. Definitely bring a pack lunch and enjoy the grounds and site. Just wish I could have gone inside the keep.
