We will miss this museum. Sadly it is moving to NY which I totally agree with because of the community here and their lack of appreciation in the history and culture of mans best friend. They work so hard to appease with events, shows and book signings but get little return from the community. I was glad to have my pups visit this place and will be happy for their move to a civilization that will adore their experiences.

Worth seeing for the dog lover in your family. Located in the historic Jarville House, surrounded by beautiful gardens. Filled with art ranging from figurines to furniture to walls filled with paintings of dogs. On day of our visit the museum had a dog show as well as guest dogs that visitors could pet. Scenic dog park outside. On our Saturday afternoon visit museum itself was quiet. Of note, we heard that the museum will be moving to New York in September, though no mention was made at museum itself. Receptionist friendly and knowledgeable. Worth allocating approximately 1.5 hours to enjoy visit at a relaxing pace.

Dog lovers will be rolling on their backs and racing back and forth across the room at this museum. It hosts hundreds upon hundreds of artifacts and pieces of art about Man's Best Friend... ceramics, paintings, metal sculptures -- from serious to silly. You'll easily spend an hour or two enjoying every little nook.

Very welcoming and so many awesome pieces of dog art! Our dogs were welcomed and staff were all happy...we lost our poo bags inside and we're surprised to find out they had closed as soon as we left! :/ We had no idea the ladies were waiting for us to leave! As we were exiting the parking lot, a staff member came to the car with the bags!

So sad they're moving so far away! I could have spent hours more here, but my boyfriend wanted to leave. A great place for the thoroughly dog obsessed!

We had our rehearsal dinner here, and we loved it! The staff is so easy to work with, and the rental space was inexpensive. As dog lovers, we could not think of a better place to celebrate with friends and family. People loved getting to go through part of the museum during our event!

Oh my God is all I can say. I have wanted to visit this place for years, and so glad that I did. It will soon be moving to New York City and I doubt I'll be making a trip up there unless I was going to Westminster for the weekend. The artwork is spectacular. The grounds are beautiful. Any place that's on the property is open to you and your dogs. Be respectful of the area, and leave it as you found it. There is artwork inside that just makes you realize how long the love of dogs has existed in the world. There were metal collars that dated to the 13th century, the oldest piece of artwork I saw was in the early 1700. Again just lovely and the curator was one of the most Pleasant people.

Dogs and Art. If you like these two things, this is the place for you. Luckily, for my wife these are two of her favorite things and she enjoyed her entire time at this museum. There are three stories with the top level filled with quite a few paintings ranging from the the 18th to 21st century. The ground floor had a lot of dogs painted and sculpted in a more modern style. The bottom floor consisted mostly of the history of military and police dog with an emphasis on the K-9 Department of St. Louis County. It was a nice trip for my wife and I though I think that the six dollar fee was a bit steep.
