an ancient place used for saving water. nowadays it is rebuilded in order to be attractive for visitors with modern architecture. also there are cafe, sea stone shop and restaurant in it.

This is not an ancient place and is very expensive to visit for ordinary families. Also you can not call this place "an underground city" because there is some around 20 years old underground tunnels and shops, you never can't compare this place by "Nooshabad underground city" that is an ancient city nearby Kashan city.

More than 2500 years old. you travel 14 meters underground to see one of the most amazing hand made structures. Great views and live music helps you to relax and enjoy your experience. Highly recommend.

This underground complex, with around 2500 years antiquity, is one the most intriguing tourist attraction sites of Kish Island! Whole roof is covered with dead Coral Reefs, which is interesting to know. there are tons of wells, traditional transition system, rivers and a lake. Special effects and lighting, especially at night, makes it perfect for taking snapshots. I don't recommend its cafe & restaurant! All in all, you'll experience a delightful time in this underground city!

I wonder why this place is not as famous as it must be. Take it this way: In such heat, people discovered and carved deep into a cave and were able to live without ACs and found sweet water in such a small island and lived for centuries. You go out in the island RIGHT NOW and try living for 7 hours! You'd probably die :))) I still remember there and get fascinated by our ancestors' discoveries.

Amazing historical underground water cannels restored with huge foresight and efforts by generous philanthropic expatriate Iranians from Germany.
