Our server was great. The food was great. Only reason 4/5 stars was that the Hitachi cook didnt do was trick. There were 2 young kids at the table. An onion volcano would have been nice. The next table got all the tricks. Maybe next time?

This was my first visit to Kitaro after hearing about it for years. Overall good experience and I will be back. Positives first: The building itself is structurally beautiful. Our server was friendly and personable. The food came out quickly and without any unwanted surprises. The sushi was fantastic and at a great price during lunch. Negatives: The building was dirty. There were greasy finger prints all over the front door (not a good way to start) but the worst part is how disgusting dirty the ceiling and light fixtures are. When you have a beautiful building people look around . . . They may not like to have visible dust and dirty that looks like it could fall on your table. The server while friendly was hard to get back to our table once food was out. Including drink refills and getting our check to us. This may be a scheduling issue rather than the servers issue because he seemed to have 5-7 tables at lunch. I never saw the server slouching!
This place is amazing and our cook was very entertaining! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Come to this place hungry because they will fill you up! We ordered a combination platter. The filet and lobster was perfect!
We had rolls and sides. The beverages were delicious! The rolls appeared were not done at the same time and two out of the four were left to sit? They just didn’t feel fresh and a bit hard to chew.
I know Kitaro management doesn’t care, but here goes.... Was seated at the hibachi table this afternoon for lunch. My party and I had already gotten drinks, ordered, and eaten our soup and salad when another party was seated at the table with NO SPACING between parties. Not everyone has been vaccinated yet and Kitaro doesn’t even request guests to wear masks when not eating. Y’all were closed more than once last year due to employees testing positive. Told the waitress we were not comfortable with seating and left.
2nd time here. Always a wait. No reservations. That part doesn't bother me and is to be expected. 1st experience was superb! Chef was so amazing! Legit, the best that I have ever had. Food had great flavor. Perfectly cooked meat. Salad dressing is one of the best I have had. And the soup was too. Sushi is as well. Only complaint is the front desk and scheduling. I will still crave this place though; and WILL return. Best in town, for sure.
Arrived before 3 to be told we couldn’t get lunch pricing because we weren’t going to be seated in time. Asked to speak to the manager who seemed to be to busy to come talk to me and sent the hostess back to tell me his answer as I asked to speak to him again he refused and just ignored us as he walked past us several times. I ordered extra rice and noodle and the server Kristen wrote it down. The chef didn’t give me either even though he said extra rice but not noodle. I’ve always had a great experience coming here and I’ve frequented the establishment several times and never had issue with anything. This time was very disappointing and I think the manager needs to be reprimanded for his conduct of professionalism when asked by a customer to be spoken to. If you’re going to advertise lunch till 3 then advertise must be seated by 3 to get lunch pricing as we came 15 minutes before 3 and seated 5 minutes after we should’ve received that price because we were in the door well before 3. It’s not my problem y’all can’t have me seated in a timely manner to accommodate lunch pricing I specifically went for. I guess if you need the money that bad you force a higher price. Probably will not be back again because of the manager and server and this is one of my favorite places to eat. It’s a shame one bad experience spoiled a lifetime of eating there.
Always great food and a great atmosphere. Places to sit and order or an option for the hibachi. The menu has a lot to offer for anyone, even those who don't enjoy seafood. The sushi menu is also vast with a lot of great options for everyone. Amazing staff and great food!
