This place is so typical of the help available in this area as they only care about their bottom line. I have been on waiting lists for the past 5 years and finally found a counsellor I could connect with that was willing to help me with my complex issues. Now they are moving present clients to the bottom of a new waiting list so that they can fast track more people through their doors no matter how fragile a client may be. My therapist lost her job with KW because she refused to kick me to the curb. What a waste of a caring therapist. I wish her well while I fall apart waiting once again.

KW counseling is one of the most caring and wonderful organization. They truly care about the people who access their service. I am blow away by how fast they returned my call and got me into counseling. I would recommend KW counseling to anyone who is looking for help.

They video recorded one of my therapy sessions, showed it to a university class, and then relayed all this really abusive and unkind feedback the class (including the professor) had for me at my next session. When I was at my absolute worst. A truly devastating and demoralizing experience. I didn’t schedule a return after that. I’ve spent everyday over the past years living in absolute fear and horror of that video footage appearing on YouTube. I regret trusting this place. This and Grand River are the reasons I've completely given up on Mental Health field. Monsters. Update: This is not a simple allegation. This actually 100% happened. My anxiety spikes each time I imagine the world seeing that video.

Been unsuccessfully trying to schedule a counselling session for nearly 2 months now. Here's how it goes. You call the front and let them know. They say an intake worker will call you to set you up with a therapist but they won't know when it will be. The intake worker then calls you with a private number unexpectedly at an unknown random time a couple of days later. And if you miss the call you can't call them back. So you have to call the main line again and go in the waiting list again to be contacted by the intake worker. And the cycle repeats. Not sure who came up with this ridicilious intake process but it is terrible and a circus or dog and pony show at best. I have had counselling through better structured institutions and they will call you, if you don't pickup or miss the call, they will try again in 10 minutes. They don't just leave you hanging and forget about you and move on to go finish eating their barbeque grilled chicken... It's a terrible process and a dangerous one. Oh and they don't at any point in any of the conversations ask you if you are having suicidal thoughts or thoughts to hurt yourself or others. I don't have these thoughts but my experience has been this is something they are supposed to ask. Just thought I should throw it out there for management to take back to their staff.

I was on a wait list for about 5 months but was approved for 8 sessions. Definitely worth the wait and the front desk staff are friendly.
