Wonderful view and the marker showed a good deal of history about the area. My only problem was I went there wearing shorts. The flies by the lake were biting me up and down. Prepare for bugs if you walk down to the lake shore.

Beautiful marker...but this definitely want where the townsite of Buchanan was. It was near the mouth of the Knife River, about a mile east.
