Same here. The only use for this facet of government is to establish a record of your care and concern. Report abuse to keep the law's mandate to be a good reporter, then seek help from a lawyer.

After contacting APS numerous times concerning the care--or rather LACK OF CARE--of my Dad, (who suffered from frontotemporal dementia) he finally succumbed to the disease yesterday. I'm not sure what constitutes neglect, but I was certain that laying in your own urine and feces and not being fed or hydrated, surely was considered neglect, and that the caregiver denying medical treatment or even considering longterm care, even though money wasn't an issue either, should have at least been contacted and investigated. But I guess it didn't constitute either, because I couldn't even get a home visit. And I was told by a social worker from the hospice that was treating my Dad, had also contacted APS, regarding the inability of the caretaker to physically and mentally care for my Dad, but I guess by then, it was too late. So, if you need help or are concerned about neglect or the individual being exploited by misuse of their own money, I would suggest speaking to an attorney, calling 911, but the one thing I would NEVER suggest would be calling your local APS department!!!
