This is a small family owned business. I take my kids here to eat for movie night, 2.50 movie theatre next door. I have a preference for good quality Asian food and with that I only like restaurants that uses fresh produce and meats . Every time I took my kids here the food was good, the proteins (beef, pork, chicken and seafood) and the vegetables were always cooked perfectly. The sauces are never to heavy or so salty that your tongue is ringing. My kids love this place and they are very picky eaters, everything has to be cooked just right or they are not interested. The restaurant can use an updated decor, but it's clean, the parking is plentiful and there is shopping and movies that will keep everyone entertained.

This Chinese restaurant is excellent! Several years ago it was not good but in the last couple years has changed ownership and is truly of superior quality as compared to other small Chinese places or even large corporate ones locally. I questioned the owner about how he makes his food so much tastier and he replied that he pays a higher price for his sauces and fresh ingredients versus the low cost products used by others. I had given up on local Chinese food but this place is a great hidden secret in the ethnic restaurant scene in Knoxville! Try it!
Finally we have found a Chinese restaurant in Knoxville that prepares fresh, flavorful, distinctive Chinese dishes. This is not a fast food restaurant and the slight wait is worth the tasty results. Having sampled this cuisine in NYC, around the US and abroad we have spent the last 17 years in Knoxville repeatedly disappointed by the offerings. Each Great China Gourmet dish comes with a very distinctive flavorful sauce. This is a small, family owned restaurant. They take great care to please their patrons. Your order might be taken by one of the children or by the father but the result will be appreciative delivery to you of a very satisfying meal.
The general tsos is SO GOOD!!! The egg rolls are also pretty tasty. I can't wait to go back.
Ordered take out this evening to give it a try since our recent move to the area. Not good. Cold food and really just gross. If you are looking for that great "dirty Chinese" restaurant, this is NOT it. The search goes on...
We were regular customers and would order about twice a month because we enjoyed the food. We just ordered delivery. We ordered shrimp lomien minus the veggies add broccoli just as we have in the past. An hour later hour food arrived and we discovered we only received lomien and broccoli with no shrimp. We called to advise of the mistake. A young man answered the phone and began to argue immediately telling me I was wrong and lying. He stated he took the order and nothing I was saying was true. My girlfriend had placed the order in front of myself and her father. During the order she had to correct the young man twice. During my call back he became very agitated and began yelling. I asked for a manager. He advised HE was the manager. My girlfriend got on the phone and began to explain the order. He told her "we were being rude and obnoxious ". She asked for the owner. He said his father was the owner. He put his father on the phone, while he was in the background saying we were lying. We paid 43 for 3 small meals before tip and never got our order corrected. I called and advised the owner we no longer trust them, or wish to do business with them. I am blown away by the treatmemt we have received. I would have NEVER believed i would be spoken to in such a manner by a company that wishes to stay in business. We will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau. Order at your own risk with these people.
I've ordered here about 3 different times, to be delivered to my workplace. The first two times were okay, but today was what convinced me that i will never be ordering from here again. I call in my food at 1:45pm, the woman on the other line sounded frustrated with our communication breakdown; which is understandable, but i remained patient and understanding with her. She said she would have to call me back later to get my address and get payment from me; saying she was "too busy" to take that information now. She told me the total and hung up. She calls back an hour later saying shes ready for my address and payment, again, she didn't know where i was. (Said i was right behind Weigle's off Kingston Pike, going west. And they have delivered here before) I was frustrated a bit, but still hopeful. Another hour passes and STILL no food arrival. I called multiple times, without any answer. 2 hours later, i decided to go 3 minutes down the road to get my money back and go to McDonald's, before i got a call that said someone is already on there way to me. When i get my receipt its 5.00 more than what they tell me the total was. Every time this has happened. Long story short, i'm eating my lunch at 4:15 and it was one of the most ridiculous experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. The food is good, but not good enough to have to wait through that experience again.
The past few times i have called to order take out from here, they NEVER answer the phone. I will be taking my business elsewhere from now on. This is bad customer service.
