My buddy and I rode from Pittsburgh to DC via the GAP / C&O trail and spent the night in Harpers Ferry Hostel and Campground. Absolutely loved our stay here! Everything was perfect about this place: nice bathrooms, spacious kitchen, awesome decor that made you feel like you were in AT territory, and a delicious breakfast (included). Staff was helpful and friendly. If you’re riding through this town, definitely worth a stay!!

Cleanest hostel on the Appalachian Trail. Super friendly and helpful staff, especially Megan and Isabella. Great atmosphere and lodging. Plenty of space whether in a tent, bunk, private, or semiprivate room. Definitely will be back!

This place is amazing! This was our first experience in a HI Hostel. Everyone was friendly. The bathrooms and facilities were clean. We have a high-energy toddler and everyone was understanding and accommodating. We will definitely be back and visit more HI Hostels around the United States and world.

Found my stay at HI Hostel Harpers Ferry underwhelming. Off the bat, the dryer wasn't working, fridge didn't close properly, and the portable bathroom outside had not been cleaned out as scheduled which made the outdoor area smell of poop (not ideal while trying to make s'mores). Once it became 10pm, which is quiet hours, essentially everyone staying in the hostel was forced to go to bed - we got yelled at when we were quietly talking and making food. Mind you it was a Saturday night, so 10pm seemed quite early. I had a top bunk and woke up in the middle of the night sweating. Overall, the hostel just seemed a bit run down and not taken care of (and I've stayed in dozens of hostels to compare that to). On the plus side, pancakes in the morning were nice and the people staying at the hostel were friendly. We also enjoyed that s'mores were provided.

Great spot just outside Harpers Ferry. Very clean with fantastic amenities for the price compared to other hostels I've been to. The very friendly and knowledgeable staff, Megan and Isabel, kept us busy the entire weekend with recommendations for restaurants, attractions and trails. Will recommend.

This place was cool. Some thru hikers, cyclist, and people from all over. Plenty of room and plenty of spots to hang out and there was free breakfast
