Ramshackled spot with various pieces on display inside and outside. Warm service from longstanding owner Jock. Mainly make custom pieces from various types of local woods. You can buy impressive cuts of yellowwood etc.

This place is run by Daniel and Karl who are really friendly and very passionate about what they do. We had a great conversation with both of them and spent lovely time being shown around the place as well as playing with the dogs. They gave my husband some sound advice around setting up a woodwork shop. We ended up buying a few pieces and wish our suitcases were bigger. They are building up a showroom as after the fires in Knysna all started from scratch. For now they mainly work to order. You can also see their work in different places in Kysna i.e. the waterfront and in the local information center where it is for sale.

I have visited Timber Village a number of times over the last few years, the last time being mid March this year (2015). For a woodworker or hobbyist, it's a great experience - lots of amazing woods and crafted wooden products and almost a trip back into the past. One of the beauties of Timber Village is that it is way different from the 'commercialized' wood yards in our cities - step right back into a Darlene Matthee Knysna forest novel!
