One of the oldest Chandi puja of Barisha or Behala area (more than 200 years old chandi puja), held every year in the month of December... the puja committee organised a fair for the period of 10-15 days, every year... its a famous fair and attracts huge crowd... this fair is located at Sakherbazar area, in Barisha / Behala... it was started by the famous Sabarna Roy Choudhury family of Barisha... it is a place of lots of food and fun... overall its a nice place for fair-loving people...

It is a very nice place to visit during the winters Absolutely lovely atmosphere. Every Bengali will feel like "PUJO" atmosphere During this specific time of Chandi mela there is possibility of huge traffic in the surrounding areas due to the crowd

Playground, small school eveñt ground and ground where a fair is held every year during the chandi puja. Has a permanent chandi temple attached. This ground needs to be maintained and cleaned regularly.

ABHIJIT DAS

It is a big fair in the Behala area during this November December month. The main attraction of this fair is Chandi puja. This puja and fair is 300 years old.Sabarna Roy Chowdhury, a zamindar of Kolkata started this puja at his home. Now it is arranged by Chandi puja Samiti. This fair attracts thousands of people every year. Here you can buy house hold things, imitation jewellery,food, crockery,toys and many more things.

It is a fair which indulges people of all ages. There is puja pandal, huge selection of street food, and anything and everything under the sun for sale. You just cannot get bored here.

SWARUP KR. CHAKRABORTY

More than 200 years old, this puja is known for it's crowd and vastness and traditions. It's organized by Barisha Chandi Mela Committee. Located at Sakherbazr this puja and mela going for 9 days. On an average 15k people visit each day. During the weekend or holyday there are more than 20k visitors. A blood donation camp organised each year correspondence with Lion's Club, Kolkata during this mela. Cultural events are also organised by the mela committee.
