Circular canal was excavated in 1833 & linked to the Ganges. The work was began in 1829. It was excavated along the path of erstwhile Maratha ditch canal which was filled up to construct Lower & Upper Circular Road. The canal is stretched from Chitpur area to Beliaghata area.
