Heard of lot about their biryani being one of the best biryani in kolkata and being a biryani lover this place was on my bucket list for the last 2-3years. Few days back I visited this place to try them out. Coming to the things I've tried, Nargisi Kebab : a kind of kebab or kofta with a egg in the middle. It is named after Narcissus flower because when kebabs are cut they look like the flower's petals. The minced meat and the spices accompanied the egg really well. This dish also comes with some parathas. Absolutely delectable. Much recommended. Chicken biryani : Not that rich. It's a light biryani for the people who don't like their biryani rich with masala. Pretty decent. Phirni : Second best firni I've tried. It was buttery and had a beautiful texture in it. Loved it. Do try this one too. To conclude, this place is pretty decent with few of their items are worth the money. The service can be a little better but apart from that this place is worth visiting as their prices are pretty reasonable. Bon appetite.

*Follow kolkata.foodie.dibyajit at Instagram and Zomato for drooling pics and unbiased reviews* Have had Biryani from Hanglaatherium Lake Gardens branch earlier. I found it be great. Based on that, ordered one Chicken Biryani and one Mutton Biryani via Zomato last night. However, the delivery was not upto the mark. The rice was bland in taste and it was very dry. The potatoes in the biryani were perfectly boiled but lacked taste, especially because of the salt. Not sure if the quality degraded in the mean time or it was just a one off situation but was not at all satisfied after paying almost 550 INR for two biryanis. I have tasted far better biryani in recent times at much cheaper prices which were ordered via Zomato. It is absolutely fine that the biryani was light and there was no overdose of masalas because that is how Kolkata biryani is supposed to be however, it was not perfect. Also, I felt that we need a gravy as a side with this biryani because of it's dryness. Hope they improve or take the necessary actions soon because Hanglaatherium has always been my go to place earlier for Biryanis. Note : Pictures below do not have the full quantity. I kept aside a bit. Also, they do not give boiled egg with their biryani.

Last Wednesday me and my friends visited this restaurant and ordered Mutton biriyani and and this chicken starter. They served the starter first and it was tasty. When the biriyani came everything was great until I tired the Mutton of the biriyani. It was smelling bad. After one bite I didn't touched the Mutton again. After leaving the restaurant one of my friend told me not only the Mutton was smelling bad but also the potato was bad in taste. Anyways 2 stars for the starter and the service

We visited this place on 21st December 2020 on a friend's suggestion and was delighted by the food and general ambience of the place. The decor is very tasteful and service is prompt. The food being delicious is a feather in its hat, so to speak. Mutton Hanglabari is this place's specialty, and for good reason. It was a delight to have that dish. This place is pretty affordable, especially for young couples looking for a laid-back ambience.
