The best goverment medical college in kolkata for mbbs and also for treatment facilities. Present just beside central metro gate. This is the first ever medical college in Asia. This place has a very big campus. The campus is clean well maintained. There is canteen for all serving food at affordable cost. There are entrance from both the sides.

Kolkata Medical college is the number one Medical college of west Bengal.... The medical college carry many more history of west bengal as well as india. The establishment of the Medical College in 1835 at College Street, Calcutta, was one of the most significant steps in the introduction of scientific education into the Indian subcontinent by the Europeans. Rigorous courses of training in anatomy, physiology, morbid anatomy and pathology were introduced for the first time into the practice of medicine in India. Doctors and teachers trained at this institution were instrumental in the spread of Western scientific medical education and training, not just in the Indian subcontinent but also overseas—in the British dominions and colonial territories in Africa and the West Indies.

Faculty is too good here. Teachers are extremely friendly but also act like our own guardian. Some great doctors are associated with this institution as teachers and students both. Cantyn of the hospital is quiet good and quality of food is good. Loved my college days !!

Doctors are less in Emergency..I saw many people are coming with pain and there is no one in Minor OT..cleanness is less.. Most of the Doctors are good, Some stuffs are harse..they dont have humbleness at all..I am so socked one police helped me Lot..
