It was THE BEST south indian food store I have ever found in Kolkata. My parameters to determine the quality of south indian food by the quality of the sambar and white chutney. Theirs was the best. Any items you taste, were of top quality. But post lockdown, the quality has declined a bit as far as quality of sambar and chutney is concerned. Their paapri chaat and Dahi Vada is marvelous too. Please do check them out if you are having hard time finding quality south indian food in kolkata.

Popular South Indian is a South Indian Dosa shop on Prince Anwar Shah Road on the northwest kerb of Lord's More(Crossing). The variants of the dosa and uthappam is one of the best in Kolkata. Starting of these two base dishes they have at least forty variants. The spread is served piping hot along with sambar. Do try the medu and dal vadas kept below the cash counter. The packaging for takeaway food is excellent.

There are many popular names of South India Joints in Kolkata but this place is a hidden gem.. It's a very small joint but very busy.The taste is awesome and he has hoards of varities of dosa,idly but I safely go with the simple options rather that fusion varities.His sambar,chutneys are of great taste. Do try his Onion Masala Dosa, Dal Vada,plain dosa etc.. Also, this place doesn't have inside seating arrangement. He has few benches and stool and one just need to manage himself.
