A historical place...It is the oldest meteorological observatory in the country set up in the year 1877...the office is situated inside bodyguard lines campus and it is thrown open to visitors on world meteorological day (23rd march) every year to make the public aware of the working of the department

Mostly Pathetic daily updates.... Most of the time it seems and become wrong... And the rainfall forecast and rainfall distribution chart given by it for a particular district is calculated of a particular city/town/central town which is not actually the average precipitation all time.... It varies from west to east in WB However, the lighting warning sometimes become true... And sometimes it doesn't give any lightning warning although there is still lightning...

Pathetic daily updates.Never comes true.Gives the same forecast for each day during monsoon (like copy and paste).Just giving 1star for the correct prediction of Amphan. But still needs a lot of improvement.
