Its bad he is charging Rs. 400 per consultation and that too during the COVID period. The doctor gives genuine consultation and is caring. One more bad thing is, initially while paying in the reception I gave Rs. 500 to the staff. The staff just said, she will adjust the remaining money from the medicine that the doctor prescribes. I did not understand the significance of that. Is it certain that we have to buy medicine from them, or is it certain that doctor will certainly prescribe a medicine to you. While consulting the doctor, he told the baby does not require any medicine, but at the end he prescribed one medicine. We took the medicine and the remaining Rs.100 was adjusted in that medicine. While coming home and checking the medicine it was found that the sold medicine was just to expire within 1 month (May 2021). I am not sure, but may be to sell of his medicine, he might have given it to us. This was really bad.

Would never suggest this Doctor.Firstly to get an appointment is a pain. If you call on their number no one picks up the call.Even after taking an appointment you have to wait for 1 - 1.5 hrs for your turn to come. Doctor is extremely rude and has an attitude problem.I Have been to so many Doctors in many cities like Pune and Bangalore but he is by far the worst I have seen in my life.
With all due respect , firstly it really doesnt make sense to take an appointment for a pediatrician as most of the time its an emergency with children , i can not plan my childs illness, secondly the consultation fee is Rs 400 which is extremely high and unaffordable by common salaried class. There are docters that charge as low as 100 and give the same medicines. Thirdly with all due respect to dr koshys age and experience he is extremely rude, non empathetic, doesnt allow you to speak and his diagnosis is not thorough. I would recommend nairs hospital so kindly look for other options.
Dr Varghese Koshy is the best in his field in Kollam, also empathetic and do not give unnecessary medicines. But its very hard to get an appointment and without prior appointment, you cannot see him. You have to call in between 8- 9am for the appointment.
