The Koster "Shopping Mall." Koster is a small town in the North West Province of South Africa, serving the local farming community, mostly comprising of mealies and cattle farming. It is about 18km west of the little village of Derby where I live. It is a dirty little town due to the poor service of the local municipality, and the infrastructure has been neglected to the extent that the roads in and around town are in a very bad state. The old grain silo has been replaced by the row of silos as seen in the photos and are built next to the train line so as to facilitate the transportation of the grain. The railway station has fallen into disrepair and is now used only for freight, except for the Kovos Rail Train Safari that passes through on occasion.
