One of the best place where I spent my life in JNU. Food is pretty insipid but I have learnt to deal with it. Pigeons of JNU come to the balcony to lay eggs which is often nourished by the girls than the pigeons themselves.

1. All selected students who need hostel accommodation will be required to apply in the prescribed application form obtainable from the Dy. Registrar (Inter Hall Administration) Office of the Dean of Students from 15th July onwards. The application forms received after the last date will be considered by the Dean of Students as he deems fit. Admission in the hostel is in accordance with the merit secured in the Entrance Examination held by the University in the respective programmes of study. 2. Upto 22.5% (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST, (interchangeable, if necessary) and 3% of the seats in the hostels are reserved for the SC/ST and Physically Handicapped candidates respectively. All SC (Boys and Girls) except residents of Delhi will be provided hostel. The SC/ST/PH students are exempted from payment of hostel fee (room rent). This is applicable only to those SC/ST/PH students who are not in receipt of fellowships/ scholarships and whose parents/guardians income is under Rs. 75,000/- per annum. 3. The criteria for allotment of hostel accommodation by the University is as under :
Koyna is one of the newest hostel in JNU, located in Paschimabad II. It started operating from 2009 as a girl’s hostel. Rooms are duel occupancy and each room has a balcony. The Hostel is surrounded by Tapti & Shipra hostel. The side of the hostel is surrounded by the lush green forest. The hostel has 272 rooms and 5 dormitories hall with 25 beds each. The hostel has a gym, a reading room and a TV room for residents. There are sports facilities like badminton court, table tennis and carom board. The hostel provides an excellent environment for academic work of residents. Koyna has a diverse group of students representing every state in India as well as several international students
In front of hostel
Its one of the most newly constructed hostel in JNU meant for Girl Scholars. Its a red colored large multifloor building with almost 500 student capacity. There is a mess on the ground floor of the hostel which is very clean and tidy.
