Baptized there! Educated in Christian values there! Confirmation there! Choir member 1st grade through high school there! Wedding reception there! Mom’s (Cile Stoltz) Memorial there! Lifelong friends met there starting very young - still special friends at 77. There is no better church for me! The absolute best place to worship, sing, commune, learn, make friends and grow a relationship with God! Try it You’ll like it

I look for 4 main things in a church: preaching, music, people and community. When we were looking for a church home in 2015, we found First Congregational met these needs the best. First, the preaching. The pastor is a tremendous preacher, and she leads the congregation to be ministers themselves in an open, welcoming, truly Christian way. Her messages inspire and also invite questioning and exploration into deeper faith. Second, music. The music program is outstanding. Yes, it's traditional. And yes, it's amazing. From the children's choir to musical sermons, the quality of the music will amaze you! Third, the people. Lovely, friendly people of all ages make up the vibrant congregation. Lastly, community. There are many children, who are always welcome in worship, and there are lots of opportunities to share one’s gifts in service to the church and beyond. This church community is just that, a closely-knit, yet open, community.
First Congregational Church of LaGrange is a place where all are welcome and accepted. I love that! We are an active friendly church that has a green team looking at recycling and environmental issues, a Women's and Missions (Men and Women) oriented book club, Messy Church (crafts, lesson, song and food for all ages), a great music ministry for all ages, a beautiful sanctuary, friendly members of all ages, missions activities and work trips, and something for everyone! Try a traditional service or Messy Church which is on the first Sunday of the month at 4:30 PM.
I have been attending First Congregational Church of La Grange for the past year. It has an incredible music program that rivals professional choirs and orchestras. It has a great youth group and a lot of young families. It is a church that is interested in social justice and is progressive in it's views. I highly recommend it to anyone searching for a new church home.
I've been a member of this church for about 2 years now. There are so many kind and caring people who attend this church. My 2 year old and 4 month old sons are always welcomed during worship, even when my toddler is wiggling in his seat. I would highly recommend checking this church out if you are searching for a community to connect with.
