A lot of good good produce to pick: green beans, sugar snap peas, cabbage, tomatoes, pickles (cucumbers), varieties of hot peppers. These were the ones we picked on this trip. But they also have lots of apple varieties, strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, melons. There's a little area by the parking lot with picnic tables and microwaves. Their store has a lot of great canned and jar goods along with more produce. The people are really nice. Everyone was practicing social distancing protocols. My only critique was that the info for things you could pick wasn't clear when you're buying containers for them at the store. But it wasn't a big deal. It was overall a good experience. I'd come back here for other picking seasons.

Splendid farm one hour by car from Chicago. A lot of products to pick and stuff in boxes available at the entrance at a very reasonable price. Ideal for kids to see how the products grow and to stay a little bit in touch with nature.

I've been going here with my family for about 13-14 years. We never leave with dissatisfaction. This is the best U-Pick farm there is, if you want fresh produce, delicious apples and still walk away with money in your pocket, this is the place. Over the years it usually was pay per pound, but this year it was per box. I think that the box suits better since everyone can pack how much they want. Honestly, there is no better place than Garwood and we plan to come back as many times as we can.

One of the few premium, family-owned, commercially successful orchards left in Northern Indiana. Garwood Orchards has always been about quality and service and it is evident from the moment you pull into their paved parking lot and see the tractor-pulled, seated carts waiting to take you out to pick your own produce. Check their website weekly to see what's ripe. Not the hands-on type? Inside their air-conditioned store all the produce is available freshly washed and ready to go.

We’ve been taking our family to county line orchard for years but though we’d try a new place this year. We had a great experience up until we were leaving. They stopped us, searched us and said we had to pay extra for picking raspberries since we hadn’t purchase the right box. We had purchased a larger, more expensive box that we hadn’t used but were told it didn’t matter because it wasn’t a fruit box. We’d have to pay more. We asked if we could just return the unused, more expensive box or just call it even since we had already paid more. We were very rudely told no, we had to pay extra. I told them that we weren’t going to pay more because we’d already paid 20 for an unused box and their arbitrary rules were never explained to us. We said we’d leave the raspberries with them if that we had to but I didn’t want to pay more. To this the lady got in my face and said, “you pick it you buy it!” Then proceeded to threaten to call the police if we didn’t pay. If you want to be treated with suspicion and like a criminal go here but I’ll never go back.
