If you stumble upon LaPorte Taekwondo you hit the jackpot! My entire family (ages 4-42) has trained with LaPorte Taekwondo. Mr. Barnhill is an incredible teacher! He helped prepare us for testing, demos, tournaments and instructor trainings. He loves martial arts and is a student of the craft. He is knowledgable and continues to develop his skill in various areas of martial arts that he then passes on to his students, whom he develops great rapport! Barnhill has the ability to pack so much in one class! You are going to feel like you got a good workout while increasing your skills in the various areas of Taekwondo- forms, board breaking, sparring, etc. Both kids and adults will develop strength, flexibility, learn to fight and learn discipline. LaPorte Taekwondo also has a great and encouraging community of students. They work hard but they play hard too! If your entire family wants to get stronger together and have tons of fun doing it, this is your place! If you're you're in Pasadena, Deer Park or surrounding areas, it's worth the drive!

We enrolled our 8 year old daughter almost a year ago as a red belt after moving from California. We looked at a few area options and are extremely happy with our decision to enroll with Mr. Barnhill. Our now black belt kiddo loves going to class. Mr. Barnhill keeps class fun for the kids in addition to teaching them self defense, respect, and self confidence.

My husband, my son and I are all students of Mr. Barnhill. We love La Porte Taekwondo. We have learned so much over the past 18 months and I can't imagine our life without Taekwondo. The discipline, the encouragement, the friendships; these things are making us better people and a better family. I would encourage anyone regardless of their age or physicality, to show up and take a free class. Talk to Mr. Barnhill, talk to some of the other students, you won't know unless you try.

La Porte TaeKwonDo is a good form of exercise and discipline. It teaches respect, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, and self-control. You can spar with fellow students and gain confidence. Also there are tournaments that you can attend to compete against other area locations, far an extra charge. Mr. Barnhill is a discipline instructor that will push you to do your best while gaining your respect. The classes are not easy, but like anything you get out of it what you put into it.
