Good historical site. Museum with knowledgeable helpful staff. Beautifully preserved historical landmark. You can call the phone number for the museum to get more information. Inside of the museum they have a public restroom it is at the end of the museum. The restrooms are clean although they are quite small. The museum entrance is about half a mile away from the San Jacinto battleground drive-in entrance. The only downside is that mosquitoes are quite prevalent due to the large pond on site. The location has multiple parking lots to park and read the historical landmark plaques.

Cool place to spend an hour or 2. Twelve dollar admission gets you access to the top floor in the monument for epic views. A twenty minute walk through the museum exhibit. Seats for a 35 minute educational film. Pretty nice.

Historic Monument in the San Jacinto battle ground. Very nice museum in the base, and memorial markers throughout. The BB35 Battleship Texas is across the street, on the Houston Ship Channel.

The site is very informative. I found out a lot of interesting things about Texas and generally US history from their movie and museum exposition. Very enjoined the trail around the marsh. Was able to see some wildlife. Had a chance to catch on photo a painted turtle, an alligator and even a wild bore from a distance pasturing in the sedge. Mosquitos there are horrible! Besides of all some places look pretty shaggy and even abandoned. The boardwalk needs a serious fixing. It just doesn't look safe. The facade wall in front of the reflection pond got of the supporting side stands and overhanging dangerously. The way museum represents their exhibition is way out of date. I wish these guys to be patient and good luck!

I'll start by saying that the only reason why this received four stars instead of five is because the battleship is closed indefinitely. It is apparently undergoing some extensive repairs and it is unknown when it will open. But, the park around the battleship is serene. The monument itself is amazing. The museum inside was very interesting particularly the area dedicated to the Texas revolution. We didn't watch the movie they had, because we were unsure of when it started and we have three small children. The observation deck offers a great view of the surrounding area in addition to a very short film explaining the importance of that area. When walking the grounds around the monument they have markers signifying true placements which help give you an image of where everyone was before during and after the battle. The place has been kept well and is very clean. If you have any interest in Texas history this place has to be on top of the list.
