The monument is a great place to check out Texas history. Very upbringing and teaches the youth where and how far Texas has came from. Plenty of space once you go up the elevator and lots of information on the walls. You could see the boats working and factories busy like always. it is also on the other side of the Infamous Battleship Texas

Really nice monument. Free parking! Guided tours and a awesome ride to the top for a better view of the land. There is also a gift shop, and trail to ride or walk around.
Really enjoyed going here. You can get a deal if you are military. Great views also. Kids enjoyed it. Steps lead up to it though which I did not like. Great find. The pictures were actually taken across at the musuem of history but its all close to each other.
Great way to reflect on Texas history and the people who sacrificed for independence.
I was very disappointed with how bad it looked there. The landscape was not mowed or trimmed, the flags were faded and worn, and mostly because the museum is closed but shows open on the internet. This being a big part of Texas, (my home state)...I was very sad that it looked so bad.
People need to learn the history of the area they live in. History needs to be passed down to the next generation.
The “original” San Jacinto monument was an obelisk marking the grave of Benjamin Rice Brigham who is given the epitaph on the east front of Dead on the field of Honor. What a great place to visit. (Near the USS Texas)
Beautiful view in the evening
