If you love or, at least, are interested in Texas history, check this place out. There are some wonderful artifacts in the museum from some of Texas's founding fathers. The grounds have ample parking with bathrooms on the Texan and Mexican camp sides. Built in the 30s, the obelisk is a reminder of its time and of the time it memorialize. At the top of the monument, the view is incredible but lacks a 360 degree view and is such a small room. This place may need some modern upgrades with better technological attractions, but even with its 1950's vibe, the San Jacinto Museum of History informs the public of a historical event and mildly entertains.

An interesting museum yet I think they have enough materials to offer more to visitors than the current exhibition.

Wonderful place! We've been here lots of times & it's always a great time. The staff was very nice & friendly and the whole place was spotless - very clean. We love the observation floor. It is just a spectacular view out of every window. Right now, because of COVID, the coin-operated binoculars on the observation floor are not in use. My husband thought ahead & brought our binoculars from home. Also, the Penny Press machines have been removed. The movie they offer is very good. If you have time, catch it. Wheelchair & walker friendly. Also, not too overwhelming or over-stimulating for our Autistic son. I think he enjoyed himself today.

I came here with my friend this past Sunday and had a wonderful time. The staff members were welcoming, and I really enjoyed the view from the observation deck. The binoculars there are not in use due to COVID, but feel free to bring your own if you'd like. We also watched a 35-minute historical documentary that was very informational.

Great experience! The movie was perfect for kids to take in the history. The elevator to the top is a must do!

Drove there today and was disappointed there is a sign in front of monument that says they are closed. Doesn’t say that anywhere online though. Walked around, since we were there, and made the best of it. Just would have been nice if they shared that info online. I would not recommend anyone going there without calling first.
