Neptunos surf school is extremely well run and I wholeheartedly recommend them! The beach you attend will depend on the surf conditions and crowds which is a great advantage compared to other schools that are fixed to one beach. The coaches (Duarte and Alex) are extremely professional and active with all the students. They are passionate about surfing and about making you a better surfer -- I look forward to returning soon! \u200d️ ️

Duarte and Alex are indeed great coaches. On my very first day, I could already drive my first mini waves on a white water. First of all, they can pick you up wherever you live and bring you to the best spots, secondly, they will provide a really good technic and will tell you a lot about waves, surfing and tips for future. They care about you, they go with you to the water and give you feedback. These guys are passionate about what they are doing and with this attitude, you are in the best hands! Pretty sure it is the best school in Algarve! Highly recommended!
I started learning to surf in 2017 with Neptunos surf school. Being 48 then and living far away from the ocean, I was for sure a more challenging client then. Neptunos surf school was a really good choice for me. The owner, Duarte teaches with a lot of patience for his clients, an amazing attitude and an impressive attention to detail. Neptunos always teaches in small classes. This is so helpful, if you want to progress in your surfing. Duarte also taught my kids (teenagers then) in several surf vacations and they loved surfing with him. I was always 100% satisfied. Duarte is not only a good teacher for beginners he is also an excellent coach when it comes to teaching more advanced students. You will be picked you up e.g. in Lagos and driven to the beach, which ist the best option of the day. The materials you will get (wetsuits, surfboards) is always in very good conditions. So if you are looking for a surf school in Algarve, I can strongly recommend Neptunos Surf school.
I had already surf lessons, so I've seen a lot surf instructors/coaches! This surf school is really the best I had lessons at! In the last 2 lessons we were around 7 surf students and we had two very competent and professional surf coaches: Duarte and Alex! They are really amazing. They gave us feedback all the time and helped us to get better and safer in the water! Thank you guys! I can really recommend NEPTUNOS SURF SCHOOL and my boyfriend and I, we will have more lesson in the future when we are around for sure!!
Duarte and his friend Alex are great instructors. They provide constant help and tips both in- and out the water. They will look for a suitable surfing spot every day and can take you there. They are generous with their time and you can tell that they are very passionate about surfing. Highly recommend.
It was my second time with Neptunos School with my son , we had great time . They are efficient and proactive, Duarte and Alex are looking everyday for the best option and show flexibility to allow us to have the best experience possible. We shouldn’t forget that it s surfing so as they are not able to change the conditions, they adjust the time and the location. Very professional and nice people, I really recommend.
Highly recommended! Great surf school! It's a small school and it's owned by Duarte. During my stay I followed lessons from him and surf coach Alex. They are both really passionate about surfing and are great teachers. They take time to find the perfect surf spot which is matching your level. They really take time to explain everything in to detail before going in to the ocean. They work with small groups so you have lots of attention in the water (I even had the luck to have a privet lesson), you feel save and secure. Both my skills as my confidence made excessive growth during my 3 lessons. Besides that they both have a great sense of humor so I've had lot's of fun as well! I would definitely come back!
Duarte was a great teacher. We learned more in one day then in weeks before teaching ourselves! He helps you to start from the basics! we will definitely come back and take some more lessons with him!
