Offering bed & breakfast-style or self-catering holiday accommodations in an historic granite cottage on the ground of Balloan Farm in Lairg, Scotland. Built in 1872 by the Duke of Sutherland, the original farmhouse at Balloan Farm has been carefully updated to preserve the history while making it comfortable for guests visiting the Scottish Highlands. 2 miles outside the village of Lairg, known as the Crossroads of the North, Balloan Farm is in close proximity to all three coasts (east, west and north), less than 2 hours drive from multiple whisky distilleries, close to several renowned golf courses, and a great base for part of your North Coast 500 (NC500) tour. Stay with us as a B&B guest and enjoy breakfast selections from our menu of homemade offerings, or rent the entire cottage and enjoy access to additional spaces in The Cottage (kitchen, dining room, living room, garden room). All guests enjoy lovely private gardens, access to our family garden (great for football), and a trail to the village (featuring shops, restaurants, Loch Shin and the "wee little hoose") nearly outside the Cottage doors.
