Nice looking pub and we ordered and paid for drinks and dinner. Starter of prawns was lovely and my husbands pork belly was good but sadly that’s where it ended. I had ordered salmon for my main and it was raw in the middle. I politely sent it back and the staff was very apologetic and brought out a second salmon which was more cooked but still very pink in the middle. The pub was very busy, so I ate what I could and left the rest. We then left only to be followed by another member of staff shouting after us saying we hadn’t paid. We said we had and my husband had the receipts to prove it but these were not asked for. She then proceeded to ask why I hadn’t eaten my salmon, when I explained, she advised me that we had ordered it rare, which we hadn’t. Even when my husband advised this several times, she was adamant there must had been confusion in the ordering, my husband even said it’s fine, I don’t want an argument but she persisted. She was soo rude and it was upsetting that we started to walk away for her to reply asking us to come back in for a refund, it ruined our evening and was so unnecessary. We hadn’t made a fuss about the meal and now we were being accused of not paying and ordering a rare salmon and for this, I would give it no stars! Such a shame as we had no intention of complaining or posting this review but after this experience, I would say avoid at all cost!

Tucked away at the back of the Tongue Hotel, this bar does great bar snacks and meals and the service is excellent. Very friendly place to stop off. Can recommend the haddock & chips.
In the North of Scotland, at this time of year, it is difficult to find a good restaurant with a varied menu. The Brass Tap is closed on Mondays, but on the other days offers a good range of fresh and delicious foods with a very friendly and dignified service. I enjoyed steak one day and an avocado and quinoa salad the next - both delicious and as good as anything I have eaten in fine restaurants around the world. I will definitely Italy eat here again and can recommend it wholeheartedly.
Fantastic food in a beautiful old pub & restaurant. Friendly staff and the Porkbelly & Squash Risotto were to die for. Would come back anytime!
Didn't get served so not sure. Waited 10 minutes but no staff. The bar was very clean with a very good choice of beers. Perhaps I should have waited longer
Tiny pub just below a hotel. Good bar food at reasonable prices.
Ate here on our 2nd night staying in the hotel. Good food. I had the haddock & chips which was delicious. Drinks not overly expensive either for hotel bar.
