One of the best beaches in Scotland, but a long drive for most folk. The sea temperature is always pretty bracing even at the hight of summer, but after some adjustment (numbing) a good beach for paddling and swimming. It is a place where whales and dolphins can be seen, although in 25 years of visiting I've never seen this yet, but then I don't tend to just sit and look out to sea. Just a little walk/drive further East is Smoo cave which is also well worth a visit, a combined sea water and fresh water caves series.
