We were exploring Lake Hopatcong and visited The Windlass for dessert. Their lemon cake was amazing we might come back only for dessert again. The staff was very informative about the spring and summer activities when we asked about them. Definitely worth a 5 star review.

My friend brought me there. It was a very nice experience. The service was great and food as well. We loved that we could sit in the beches on the deck, it was so peaceful! I would only suggest to clean spiders and spider webs once in a while. There were a lot! Beside that everything was wonderful! I’ll be back

This is a belated warm (Fall Weather) review so take it with grain of salt... I really liked this place! The venue is really popular so reservations are a must but even if you don't have one, they will try their best to accommodate you on the spot. This is the first indication of how good their service proves to be. We didn't have a reservation but remarkably one of their dockside cabanas was available. The venue sits right on Lake Hopatcong so despite it being sunny, it was also windy. Take the windiness into account if you're sensitive to chills. Note, I drove across Long Island, Queens, Manhattan and New Jersey to meet a friend there and at the end of the day I felt it was totally worth it. Our waiter (Mike?/Michael?) was amazing. We ordered the garlic shrimp which came with this awesome sauce for which he made sure we had extra bread for. We never felt pressured to leave. He warned us about the wind and gave us some tips for securing our belongings. Meanwhile, the teriyaki wings were so good I was tempted to lick my fingers (It's covid season. Don't do that now). My friend ordered the meatballs which also came with a good amount of extra sauce. This all seems simple, but simple executed perfectly is great. If you're in NJ and in the vicinity on a sunny day, put this on your list of places to go. You won't regret it!

I have never been to nor have I heard of this place before and this place was so great. My friend made reservations and when we arrived we wanted to sit on the water so we waited about 20 minutes for the area to clear. When we sat we were served by a wonderful waitress named Nicole. We ordered different drinks and food. I ordered shrimp scampi pasta and we had sangria for the table. My food was so good and the sangria wasn't bad at all. The girls said their lobster roll was just ok and needed more seasoning. The prices were not bad at all. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. We got to see boats come up, order their food and leave which was so cool. I will be back!

Wonderful views. Plenty of safe dining options. Must make a reservation. THE OCTOPUS oh my!! The ahi tuna, perfect. The service staff are very good. Helpful and efficient. The scanable menu is easy to review and order from. Daily specials are also listed on the ews and events\ drop down tab.
