For views, I recommend Eagle Rock. For bouldering, Rumbling Bald is good. If you’re willing to go off the loop and up a bit, you can get some good views here, too, but with some effort. Otherwise, it’s a nice place to hike in the woods or to walk your dog. Some up-and-down on the loop trail so I’d say a moderate hike.

Great place for short hike. Not to challenging. Beautiful boulders and entertaining to observe the climbers negotiate climbing routes.

This place was great! We didn't want to pay the fee to the Chimney Rock attractions (we weren't going to be here long enough to buy the year pass, which would have been economical). So we went here. We walked clockwise, and it was a steady climb, but very doable. We saw rock climbers scaling the cliffs. Coming back was a bit dicey coming down, a bit steep, but we took it slow and it was fine. The leaves were just starting to turn, so a beautiful hike!

This park is SPECTACULAR even if you are not a climber. The boulders are magnificent and the trails are well kept. There is a nice loop you can take there just a couple of miles. Many side paths to explore and apparently some recent bear sightings. Great place to visit if you are in the Lake Lure area.

The very best hiking trail in the area. It is a medium to strenuous walk and great views along the way
