Just went to Cakeplacid today with my mom and it was out first time and when I first opened the door it felt like home. Its smelled amazing in there. They have such unique options that I found it hard to limit myself to just a few. They are a little pricey but well worth it. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was nice and friendly.

Cupcakes! Oh my grod the cupcakes! If you are near here you have to stop in. My wife and I went here a few years ago while camping out on Lake Placid and still talk about these cupcakes. Really wish we had them down here in RI. Can't wait to go camping up there again. Will definitely be stopping in for more.
We love Cake Placid! Awesome cupcakes but their cookies are my favorite. Fluff stuffed peanut butter cookies and brownie stuffed chocolate chip are our favorite.....well and their peanut butter bars!!
My girls and I went to Cake Placid on our annual trip to Lake Placid. Looking at their website, we were very excited to try their donuts. When we got there, yes it was around 3pm and they are open until 6pm, the pickings were scant. The gent working the counter was nothing less than amazing and that is why I gave 4 stars. He explained to us they no longer sell donuts due to regulations with a cooking hood. We totally understood however, the website should have been updated. Moving forward, we purchased 3 cookies, a half dozen cupcakes and a large coffee. The cookies were tasty, a bit heavy on the baking soda, and the cupcakes were tasty concoctions. My kids really enjoyed the cannoli cupcake. Lastly, the coffee....I would give it zero stars if I could. For being a bakery/cafe, I would expect even a mediocre cup of coffee but not here! I took 3 sips and threw the rest away. Very bland and weak. Stick with the cupcakes if your in the market for sweets and get there early!
I've ordered two cakes and purchased MANY other baked goods from cake placid over the last few months. Everything has been wonderful! By far, the best bakery in Lake Placid.
Delicious cupcakes! Moist chocolate cake with a nice and light maple flavored icing. Not too sweet like some bakeries! Will definitely go back!
Cake Placid did such a great job with our elopement cake! We knew it would be tasty after stopping in a few months earlier for cupcakes, but it was amazing AND looked great. Magee was super helpful and friendly, and wasn't thrown off by our small group size, and the option for delivery meant we didn't have to worry about anything.
Ordered birthday cannolis for my boyfriend from here. I had placed the order ahead and they were extremely fresh (i.e. just being finished right on schedule at the agreed upon pick up time). They were delicious and priced very reasonably.
