Small inside seating area during covid regs and large seating area outside. Good welcome on arrival with happy smiling staff. Clean and tidy. Food excellent with golden yolk eggs and large thick cut bacon. Will have to go again. Popular and busy for obvious reasons. Worth the wait. Loos an issue, ask for key and risk it if you need to go! No disabled Access.

Shearwater Lake is a stunning place to go for a walk any time of the year. There are lots of different routes and little paths you can go off and find new places. It's dog and child friendly too. The tea room is family run and so lovely. They serve a selection of hot and cold drinks, cake, sandwiches and some hot food.

In response to a comment from ‘Bren’. Firstly, your pregnant wife was not refused access to the toilet, but calmly explained to that it was for the use of tea room customers as in compliance with COVID 19 guidelines, Helen and Lee have a track and trace system in place and go above and beyond in doing their upmost to keep all of their visitors safe in these challenging times. Anybody with a slither of intelligence would understand totally the responsibility that these two hard working people have and are doing everything possible to ensure that. You must have completely forgotten to add in your review that said ‘heavily pregnant’ wife was allowed to use the toilet and didn’t have to resort to the measures of ‘urinating anywhere ‘ as she is pregnant, thank goodness for small mercies! But also, I would like to say thankyou to you and heavily pregnant wife on raising this issue as you have, very successfully made everyone very aware that shearwater lake tea rooms upholds a very high standard of protecting their customers during this time, so well done Helen, Lee and all the staff, not only are you all doing amazing, your food is delicious! Keep up the fantastic work!

A lovely walk around a peaceful area before enjoying a socially distanced ice cream and catch up. Very nice here. Polite and helpful staff.

Lovely cafe in a beautiful setting. Only gripe, asked for eggs to be well done as my children and myself hate runny eggs - eggs all came sunny side up - first plate came and I asked the waitress if she could arrange for it to be flipped over and cooked some more, the waitress kindly took the first plate away and did this. My children’s plates came and eggs were served again sunny side up, I asked the waiter if they could also be cooked for longer and was told he was too busy to do this!!! was so shocked at his reply as I thought customer service was important and I had requested it when I placed my order. Breakfast was lovely in the end - only marking down for the fact that we were the first in the cafe at 9.30 and were spoke to in this way.
