Great for families with dogs. Close to a town. Pool. Each cottage has a hot tub. Wi-Fi. Just prepare to be in close quarters with other cottagers. This is a resort style place, so there's not a lot of privacy. The smaller cottages have docks in front of them, which are also shared. The larger apartment style "cottage" in the man building is large with two bedrooms and a reserved front lawn.

I visited lake edge cottages with my family for Canada Day weekend! The cottage was extremely clean and well-kept, and the view of the sunset was absolutely gorgeous every night! If you’re interested in fishing, there’s some great catches just off of the dock. If not, there are plenty of activities/trails nearby (high falls is a good one). Steve, Anne, and their son Jakob were amazing hosts; they were SO friendly and extremely kind:) Jakob even took us on a night fishing adventure which was definitely the highlight of our trip. My entire family had an amazing time!
I stayed at Lakes Edge cottages Aug 29th and 30th with my little dog Louie. The cottage was clean, rustic and right on the lakes edge. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and super accommodating as they were able to get me in last minute when they had a cancelation. The peace and quiet helped melt away the stress of busy life, I enjoyed beautiful sunsets both nights. The lake is clean and I saw fish jumping, loons, turtles and many other birds. I enjoyed my stay so much I rebooked my next stay before checking out ! If your looking for a great escape not to far from the greater Toronto area Lakes Edge Cottages is the place to be! Highly recommend !!
I love this place and am so happy to have found it. We have been here 3 times this year and each time has been fantastic. The cottages are well clean and well equipped. Some of the cottages have a hot tub which is a nice plus. The place is very dog friendly and when we pull in to the property, our dog gets excited. The hosts are very warm and helpful.
We lucked out and managed to snag a week-long cancellation from a regular that was unable to cross the border due to COVID19 (our apologies to that regular). We had a wonderful stay with Anne, Steve and their son, Jakob. The property is well kept and maintained, extra precautions and cleaning were in place, which put our mind at ease. The location is great with plenty to do in the area (Lakefield is an adorable little town with great coffee shops and a farmers market on Thursdays in the summer, Petroglyphs Provincial Park is a scenic 30 minute drive away). There is also PLENTY to do at Lake Edge itself, we spent most days relaxing by the lake, taking one of the canoes or boats to explore Otonabee River, and teaching our pup how to swim! Lets be honest, it was also a vacation for our dog. Thank you for the most relaxing week of the year, Anne, Steve and Jakob! Looking forward to visiting again and becoming regulars ourselves!
Our family had a wonderful stay at Lake Edge Cottages. The Kawartha Suite was extremely clean and had everything we needed for our one week stay. The hosts (Steve, Anne & Jakob) were so helpful with their advice on things to see and do. We had a very relaxing and lovely time. Our favourite experiences were many: fishing off the canoe/rowboat, kayaking around the marsh, birdwatching (spying on the osprey nest with their hatchlings and watching the osprey swoop down to catch a fish on the lake), watching the beautiful sunset over the lake, taking the pontoon out to explore the lake, and sneaking out late at night to look at the millions of beautiful stars that we never get to see in the city. So glad we found a welcoming place for our dogs to join us: they had a great time swimming, running amok in the sandbar, and riding in the pontoon boat. Overall, it was just what we needed for a peaceful break from the city. We were so sad to leave. Highly recommend this family and dog-friendly cottage resort.
My wife and I have visited Lake Edge yearly for the last 4 years, and it's become our favourite place on earth! Fantastic accommodations and amenities, with no shortage of things to do at the resort and in the surrounding areas. Highly recommended if you're looking for a cottage rental.
These cottages are absolutely gorgeous and a must-visit for any vacation. The rooms are extremely clean and well kept, and the many activities and nearby sights will definitely keep you busy. Cottage staff were so kind and helpful, we had help with our campfires and were even taken on fishing trips.
