Bay Business Angels is an investment network in the North Lancaster and South Cumbria area. A group of local professional and financial firms have put traditional rivalries to one side and teamed up with Manchester based Access to Finance to set up an inaugural business angels investment network in the North Lancaster and south Cumbria area - Bay Business Angels. The partners behind the network are Baines Wilson LLP (commercial law firm based in Lancaster), MHA Moore and Smalley (accountants based in Lancaster, Preston and elsewhere in the North), CLB Coopers accountants (based in Lancaster, Manchester and elsewhere in North West), National Westminster Bank plc and Barclays Bank plc plus the University of Lancaster. The purpose behind the network is to provide start up and relatively new businesses with “Angel” investment. Potential investment targets in the majority of instances are based in the Bay/South Cumbria area but investment opportunities are also fed into the network from Access to Finance’s wider Business Angel networks in Manchester and wider Lancashire.
