This was a last minute booking for 2 adults and a under 3. Caravan was spacious, clean & tidy and a home from home feel. Didn't try all the amenities having a under 3 with us but however he loved the on site pool and play area. Only downside the site was a little isolated so you needed a car to venture out to if keeping toddlers amused. Onsite residents and other holiday makers very polite and friendly, staff welcoming and friendly. Big shout out to stan & lisa whom were the housekeepers onsite and the first people to give us a very warm welcome on our arrival and made our stay very safe and clean. I would possibly stay again for a quiet adult break maybe peak season may to july 2021.

Cockerham sands is a quiet place, a peaceful place with big skies. Great for sunsets.

Nice rock pools for kids to paddle in when the tide is out. Good for beachcombing and bird spotting. Even when the tide is in there's a bit of beach/marshy sands you can walk on near the parking area at the entrance to the caravan park. There's an information board at the abbey that is worth a read - the ruins are interesting and there's a nice view of the lighthouse. The abbey door has never been open when I've visited but I gather you can go inside sometimes. The paths are good with a few kissing gates - it'd be tricky with a pram though, I think. Also the field around the abbey gets boggy and sometimes there's cows in it. You can see Heysham one way and Pilling and Fleetwood the other - the views are pleasant and photogenic. It's a lovely sun trap in the summer, but it can be gusty, cold, and bleak in the winter. No bins, benches or facilities of any kind. Looses a star for the lack of parking - there's only space for about 8 cars and whilst it's not hugely popular we've often just managed to grab the last parking space, even out of season. Well worth a visit and something of a hidden gem - its more interesting than Pilling Amenities and more rustic than Glasson Dock.
