THIS is the car that Avis Calama Airport gave us today to drive for hours on end in the Atacama Desert. Never have I seen a chip like this in a windscreen, let alone from a rental car company. The two women at the counter couldn't speak a word of English so we were left trying to communicate through Google Translate. When we mentioned the chip the woman checking out the car said she would mark it on our sheet and that was it. The attitude here is blase to say the least and clearly customer service is the least of their priorities. We're shocked that Avis would be working in this way and do NOT recommend booking a car with them.

Good localization, with access to every part of Santiago (near Costanera, av Vitacura, Las Condes). A excellent crew, with a great and fast reception. It's my first choice to rent a car in Santiago.

The car was reserved for pick-up at 8am on 27 Jul 2019. However, there was no one to firm the contract. There were more than 10 clients waiting after 2 hours. Then I gave up and went to another rental agency. Even calling the manger at the airport agency didn't work, it seems... Avis needs to take some action at this agency to improve the service.

I’m highly disappointed with this Car Rental location, which operates as a franchise for both Avis and Budget. They made me wait 15 min to be serviced only to tell me they did not have the car in the category I reserved available. Staff made little effort to assist or offer an upgrade given the circumstances.

GO FOR OTHER COMPANY INSTEAD OF AVIS! I would give them no star if I could. Long story short, we arrived at night and was told that all the cars were out. No car for my reservation. We have to find a taxi ourselves to go to the hotel. They suggest me check back the next morning. It was nearly mid night and we were really tired after a long flight. But AVIS don't have any solution for their overbooking. The next morning when I arrive at the booth again, a customer was just returning his car with full gas. I thought I should be able to getting that car but I'm wrong. AVIS said they have to keep that car for another customer who was not even at the scene at that time. I was told again that no car would be available for me that day and "good luck with your trip". I have to cancel my plan at Santiago because I can't get anything from other rental company due to last minute booking. Even more terrible is that I was told the first night that AVIS will reimburse all my taxi fees going back and forth between hotel and airport. But the next morning when I ask for reimbursement with taxi receipts, they said I need to contact customer service by email to get the money back. Sent out an email. NO REPLY SINCE THEN. Shame on AVIS! Never use this place!

Rented car for one day trip to see Valparaiso and Cochagua. Even though nobody speaks English there, lady at the desk (Raquel) was very patient and kind and did her best to understand what we wanted. Book your reservation online and after head to their office to pick up the car. If you rent directly from office price is doubled.

The car I have booked was not available. Indeed there was only one car, that could be hired – and that was a smaller one with a trunk, that wasn't big enough for our two suitcases. So we had to put one on the backseat. The only other car was dirty and not ready. The stuff offered, to make it ready in one hour. We would have chosen it, if it had been possible ib half an hour.

Nobody speaks English at all. Really hard to understand what they want. Gave me a completely different car from what I've ordered. The car was dirty and all dusty it looks like no one is cleaning them. Really bad experience
