I needed to file a police report for my backpack and belongings that were stolen. All I needed was documentation of the report so my travel insurance will cover the items stolen. After lots of confusion I received a "declaration of loss of Passport". I never lost my passport and this was nothing that I needed. There was no further assistance available and I went to another Police Department. They were polite, and courteous but I cant imagine the language barrier could be that terrible. I even had a pre-typed letter explaining the situation in addition to using Google Translate while I was there.

con dolor tengo que decir que tuve una experiencia de muy mal gusto, nunca pensé que carabineros de Chile me atendiera con una prepotencia , soberbia , sin respeto , y tan mal educad@s , es una lastima que una institución cambiara tanto , nunca mas volveré a ir a esa comisaria

Comisaria bien ubicada, con estacionamiento, infraestructura buena y de atención expedita
