This is a short hike through the desert bush and into a small canyon, noticeably cooler than the surrounding areas. There is an overhang where a small waterfall forms with the melting snow, as well as a cave and large boulders. Unfortunately, some people graffiti and scratch into the rock, showing no respect for nature or all the people who enjoy this park. You can also wander off of the trail to various spots along the cliffs, where you can do some scrambling up rocks for a better view, or some proper rock climbing. There is a wash crossing the area that can easily take you perpendicular to the trail. Some parts of the cliff faces and hills have small caves and overhangs, and the multi-colored hues of the surroundings are entrancing; red, pink, yellow, white. Like the entire red rock park, it is dreamlike surroundings.

This is our absolute favorite hike with our toddlers. Easy enough for them with beautiful scenery and a small waterfall at the end in the winter months.
