Very strenuous, bring lots of water and snacks, most hiking is in the sun- I got sunburned: legs & arms, barely any shade; lots of pebbles when you come down- one blister and bruised toenails. Bring hiking sticks which helped. Very well marked with red, green, or white dots. The view was spectacular- entire Las Vegas & more. 4-6 hrs

Difficulty: Hard Mileage: 5 Pets: Dog friendly View: Red Rocks Mountains, Las Vegas What to bring: At least 1-3 liters (depend on year), snacks, hat Parking: Lot Fee: 17 park entrance for the day or National Park Pass Time: 2.5-3 hours It was a good hike. We did it on 11/14. The weather was perfect! The second mile was the hardest and that’s because we went up the wrong way. We didn’t follow the trail because we followed another hiker. They went up the steep way. It was challenging. Lots of loose rocks, so be careful not to slide and slip. Follow the trail! Look for white or red or green markers on the rocks. We didn’t know. We did make it up though. A little snow close to the top. Views were amazing! Beautiful. You can see all of Las Vegas and the beautiful red rocks canyons. Took us about 2.5 hours. We came again on 1/8 and the weather was beautiful! No wind no slight snow at the top. Very good weather. Got kinda hot on the way down.

Difficult hike, more strenuous as you get up higher. Offers nice views of red rock from the peak. Late December and it was still hot during the day, not many areas for shade. Can be difficult to stay on the trail even with a map so keep an eye out for the painted dots/arrows to show you the best way. Can be very slippery on the way down with the steepness and the gravel so hiking poles might be useful. Pack plenty of water and try to come early. On a weekday and with reservations, the parking lot was half full around 9 am and pretty full early afternoon.

Pretty difficult, but the views are worth it! The beginning is a winding flat path through the desert, with plenty of cool rock formations, and then comes quite a bit of up, but with wonderful views and red rocks the whole way. There's no shade at the top, so for lunch we hiked a bit down and found a tree to hide under. At the very top you can see the strip and there's a box full of notes from previous hikers! Going up, it was overcast and it only took us 1.5 hours to reach the summit. Going down took us a little less than that. Bring plenty of water and sunscreen, and wear athletic shoes. We ubered to and from the strip; thankfully there's plenty of cell service at the base.

This hike was a lot of fun and challenging enough to give your legs a good workout, but easy enough that if you go with a group of inexperienced hikers everyone can make it to the top, albeit slowly. The view at the top was awesome, it is well worth the effort.

Good trail for a good workout and amazing views. Expect steep gravelly trails so wear shoes that have good traction and ankle support. Bring a good amount of water and snacks also. Oh yeah, don't forget your camera. The views at the top are really awesome.

Challenging trail that provides some good views of the surrounding area. Can be quite slippery during winter months
