Great place, a lot of stairs though, and wouldn't suggest that you rush up them. Educational for people of all ages. And free for locals or launceston (must bring )

Nice place to walk round, lots of steps to get up top to see the fantastic views, need to pay to get in castle and we pre booked our tickets just in case, one way system implemented with sanitizer up top to clean hands after using banisters on the stairwells, nice place to have a picnic as some of the outer grounds are open to anyone,

Not sure of the cost for none members, there isn't a lot to see of the castle. There are great 360 views of the surrounding areas. It is a steep climb with lots of steps, they are all in good condition.

Set in the middle of Launceston the ruins of the castle still dominate the sky line ,a short walk up the steps and you reach the top of the hill where the tower of the castle is ,a few more steps up and your at the top ,well worth the climb ,what a view ! .the visitors centre is worth taking your time in as it takes you through the full history of the castle, nice little gift shop to .

Set on a large natural mound, Launceston Castle dominates the surrounding landscape. Begun soon after the Norman Conquest, its focus is an unusual keep consisting of a 13th-century round tower built by Richard, Earl of Cornwall, inside an earlier circular shell-keep. The tower top can be reached via an internal staircase but once reached, offers breathtaking views of the historic town and countryside.

I liked the views towards Bodmin and Dartmoor from the high keep - the castle is an interesting place to visit.

Loved walking around here & there's plenty of information available on the site to explain in more detail.
