Great day out for families and enthusiasts alike. The best day out I've had in years - didn't want to leave! Really welcoming and helpful staff. Great meals in the cafe. A 15 minute trip to the end of the line behind narrow gauge locomotives rescued from the slate quarries of Wales back in the 70's and rebuilt by Nigel & Kay themselves. The museum covers transport from the era of our parents & grandparents - all in buildings that used to be the town gasworks. Well done to Kay & Nigel, plus their helpers, for rescuing most of what is on site and keeping a bit of our heritage alive for us all to enjoy.
Amazing day out!! If you love steam trains you'll love this place. Journey begins in launceston and finishes in New Mills play farm.
A lovely little railway with great views and a quaint little tea room.
It's a nice steam railway, short but good for an afternoon out.
A brilliant journey through the beautiful North Cornwall countryside. A warm welcome and a great day is assured at the Launceston Steam Railway.
If you enjoy steam, you will enjoy this lovely little station and trains, and staff who early enjoy their jobs, (Well maybe not female train drivers, customer skills need refined), chatting to different staff, their knowledge and enthusiasm adds to the pleasure of the visit. Intended a quick visit, ended up and down the line a few times. The ticket once bought allowed several journeys and that suited us, travelling in different carriages, trains restored and cabins restored or replicated so well, made the authenticity of it all enjoyable. Maybe theme trips or parties in the lovely cafe as a bundle. Lovely day had by all, and all down to the staff
We had lovely time with my Husbands friends sadly they are not open under the circurmstances we are in . Hope we get clear for nxt year keep fingers crossed.
