First they gave my date issues about her out of town ID. Then they overcharged for drinks. Poor or almost no table service. The ambiance is like going to the club basement of your friends parents from 1955. The bathrooms weren't clean, and the food was typical for low quality bar food. No don't go there.

I never thought "dive bar" and "gay" would go together, but PWs is one of the best bars in the area and much needed complement to the DC area gay nightlife scene. Located in an unassuming commercial strip along Route 1 in Laurel, Md, this slightly out of the way bar bridges DC and Baltimore perfectly. A very unpretentious crowd is always having an excellent time in the smallish two room bar. There's always something going on in the second room, whether it's karaoke (a MUST), drag show, or just people hanging out playing pool. Drink prices are beyond cheap, and bar food is standard but prepared quick and served hot (get the tots to share and make some new friends). Other patrons are always willing to talk and make new friends, not just cruising or dismissive if you're not a certain 'type.' Even though it's a bit of a hike from my house, and you most definitely need a DD if you plan on going out (unless you stay at the motel across the street), PW's remains one of the places I turn to first if I want to go out, relax and have a great time.
They suppose to be open at 8am, Its 835am & they are still not open. Kids are hungry for a good breakfast but have to settle for MC Donalds:(
We recently moved to Maryland and in our quest to explore the area we came to PW's on a Saturday night, we had a bite to eat and it was good. We then came back a couple of weeks later on a Friday night, this time around the bartender was a little rude and the food quality was just ok.We decided to come back again for the a drag show, which by the way was fantastic. However the 13 martinies were a total let down, specially after waiting for quite a while to be served by the standoffish bartender.Don't really know when of if we'll be back, there's quite a lot of places to go to in the Baltimore DC metro area and PW's service has put this bar at the end of our places to go to list.
I walked in, ordered breakfast 5 minutes after I was done with my food the bartender asked me to leave because the owner didn't like to see people hanging around . I suggest that no one go to this place its bad environment and people discriminate.
