I have been working with Chaney since I bought my house and they are consistently polite, efficient, and on time. When my sewer line broke, they gave me a competitive quote and had it fixed by noon the next day. I definitely feel like I can depend on the team--the owner and Brian are so kind and hardworking.

Water heater not working one day. Called this company based on the good reviews here. They checked it and said it's the thermocouple not working. I asked them how much the replacement part costs, they said about 3 bucks. I told them go ahead. The next day I got a call from this company asking for 925. They said they could not find a thermocouple for my water heater so instead they replaced the entire water heater. I was totally outraged and asked them why they replaced the entire water heater just because of such a small part. And thermocouple is sold in nearly every home improvement or hardware store. What's worse was when I asked them to send me a bill first about what they did for the repair, they demanded me giving them my credit card over the phone immediately. Be very careful if you choose to work with this company.
First of all, you can't schedule an appointment. They said they would be by any time during business hours, so we made sure someone was home all day. It was getting close to 5 and we still hadn't seen anyone so we called. They said they had made a mistake and would be by the next day, so we had to arrange for someone to be home all day yet again. We were informed that the part needed would only take a couple of days to get in and the repair should be completed by the end of the week. They never gave us an estimate, but made it sound like the repair would be pretty simple and inexpensive. We didn't hear back from them until 2 weeks later when they completed the job and charged us nearly 300. Keep in mind that during this 2 week period, temperatures were dropping low and we have a new baby (who now has a cold). Nobody called to let us know that there would be any delays and there were no apologies or credits offered for them not meeting the timelines they had given us. Very disappointing. We will not be using them again.
Called this company on a Monday night at 10 pm because sewer was backing up. Website advertises 24 hour emergency service. Spoke to nice gentleman who said would have on call guy call me. On call guy called shortly after and advised would not send his guys out because it's too cold and too dark. Absolutely absurd.
Technician was great, clean and informative. I knew I needed to have my pipes snaked - so I called around price shopping. I went with Chaney (they weren't the cheapest or the highest priced). However by the time they tacked on 25.00 worth of "fees" that I was not told about when I scheduled the appointment- sent them to the highest in town. The fee for them coming had a truck charge and "other" charges. I don't know if I would have used them or not if they had been honest and up front about the cost for them to come out. However I will NOT use again because I don't trust them. Sad because the technician was great. But as a single mom I need to work with companies I trust. I will use another company next time.
Had a clogged kitchen sink and called several people and Chaney could make it the quickest. The plumber was a polite gentleman and was great explaining things to me in a way that didn't make me feel like an idiot. I don't know where they fall on price to others in town but what I paid was reasonable.
My water heater started leaking and flooded my basement. I called Chaney and they got to me fast. The repair was done efficiently the service tech was friendly. I have used Chaney for years for my commercial buildings and I could not recommend them more.
Plumbing Service - Slow to get here but once here, Joe worked efficiently. He was patient with all my questions and explained the issue thoroughly so that I might be able to avoid causing the same problem in the future. Cost was very reasonable. Thanks Joe!!! :0) Furnace Service - I was a bit upset at first because it took the repair guy so long to do his work. I felt that the two hour service charge was extreme. I also had trouble when I called the company and spoke to the rep. However, the company owner called me the next day to discuss my concerns in detail. Everything has been explained and worked out to my satisfaction. If the owner had not called me back, I probably would not be using this company again. But because they called back and were willing to try to make things right and earn my satisfaction, I will be using them again. Furnace Service AGAIN!!! - I used them again in February 2012 and they replaced the thermocouple on our furnace. This makes the third time they've been out for the furnace. It is October 2012 now and starting to get a little chilly so we went to turn on the heat only to find that it is not igniting. It the thermocouple out yet again? To have them come check it out to see if it is the thermocouple, they will charge us another 120 for labor. Not happy.
