I love being employed here. It is truly a family atmosphere with staff and residents and their families. Americare treats their staff so well. I am blessed to be in charge of the Memory Care unit, The Arbors. If you are looking for employment or a place to bring your family member...I suggest Monterey Village. Whether it's Independent living at the Cottages, or Assisted living and /or memory care. All the independence with all the support!

One of the co-workers named emily jean is on very bad drugs!! The last time I tried to take my cousin to that place something was VERY much off with her!! So I took him somewhere that was safer!!
Don’t let the fancy facility fool you. This facility is very poorly managed. The administrator picks and chooses her favorite staff making her choices obvious and causing a lot tension as her favorites seem to think they’re all that. They promise you things they can’t even deliver. She does not know how to handle family complaints and is quick to throw staff under the bus to save face. If you’re looking for a place to eat burnt food, flavorless sides, and the same dessert every day Monterey is the place for you! As a former employee, I can vouch for the lack of discipline instilled in the workers, with many getting away with doing the bare minimum. Not many residents have good things to say about the administrator, especially after lying to them that their rent raise was so that they could provide wage raises to staff which never happened. Not only do the residents not know what the extra rent is going towards, they are also unaware what happens to the 25 they are charged for rides to appointments not scheduled on a Tuesday or Thursday. This is because the maintenance boy doesn’t want to drive them around (which is part of his job) . They love to push the “universal worker” title when CNA’s complain, but good luck finding the administrator away from her chair, or seeing the maintenance man cleaning up after himself, or even the morning kitchen staff helping on the floor. They might as well change the “universal worker” thing to “CNA’s do everything and don’t expect any help from anyone.” This place would be terrible without Michael and Britte to pick up the slack, they definitely do not get the recognition they deserve and are two of the few things I miss about working here.
Great place to have your family. Mother loves living here .The staff is kind and very helpful . Beautiful facility. The administrator, nurse, snd Activity Director do a great job with the residents needs.
The upper management in this facility is very two sided. You never really know what your going to get. To family and residents they will bend over backward to get you in the door even if they do not have the staff to care for them. Management think that gift cards or letters is the fix all for staff satisfaction. The longer you work there the worse you are treated. The amount of staff they have gone through should be a major concern for Americare. I have work there myself and know many staff that leave due to management alone. The administrator starts most of the drama and the nurse is constantly on a power trip. No survey will do you justice unless you survey all staff that have left as well. I miss Americare as they as a whole is an amazing company and stand for great things, just needs to not listen to all the talk that happens from the management at this facility. -Anonymous -Update 10/9/2018 Some improvements towards the right directions have been made since my initial post. Thank you Americare for holding up to your standards.
