It seems this place has not changed what so ever. I took amber lodge to an internal review when my mam passed away and changes were implemented at the case.I will chase these up for you and see why people are still having to go through this stress and the recommendations are not in place.Do contact me if you need to and also go to the evening post website and type in my name and amber lodge and you will be able to see what this place is really like also contact the CQC they will also look into this

My Nanna has a form of dementia that unfortunately means she lashes out and can be aggressive as can a lot of sufferers of this disease, every time I visited her at Amber Lodge she was unclean and agitated and often looked unsettled. My family and I recently went away on holiday and whilst we were away my auntie had a number of calls from Amber Lodge saying that my Nanna had fallen a number of times and as a result she was admitted to St James' Hospital, upon our return from holiday my auntie and dad were faced with the fact that Amber Lodge were not planning on having my Nanna back there, her belongings were bagged up in bin liners and her room was occupied by someone else. We feel that this was a ploy to get my Nanna out as they couldn't cope with her type of dementia. This is absolutely appalling as they had a duty of care towards my Nanna of which they did not fulfill. I have seen my Nanna this evening and she was a lot calmer, clean and more settled than she's been in months due to the care of the staff at St James'. I urge you to think very carefully before you put any member of your family into Amber Lodge. We trusted them to \care\ for my Nanna but they have failed her and have been totally unfair.
