Step Out Of Stuck. When I met Martin 18 months ago my world was shrinking. I was bed bound and had already been suffering from an incurable condition in both my feet - CRPS which is chronic pain 24/7. I had already suffered for 18 months, during which time I had developed a slipped disk problem & was wearing a neck brace due to other pain. My body felt like it was falling apart. I was out of options with the NHS so I decided to go private for physio. I knew that I didn't want a life of being drugged up on pain medication & having an operation wasn't a viable option for my case. My condition of "CRPS" is not understood clearly by many health specialists but Martin "got it" straight away. My disability had taken away my basic independence. The goal with Martin is to look upon those areas of daily life and replace with a plan of action to regain my independence. He skillfully looks at my body mechanically. To me, his standards are as high as an Olympic coach. Martin's approach is friendly, caring, holistic and strategic. He breaks down our goals to my realistic daily functions and then suggests ways I can challenge myself. There are Pilate-style exercises to do and suggestions of Youtube talks that can help me learn how to manage my pain sustainably. My physio appointments are every 4-6 weeks and constantly give me hope of a fighting chance for my future. I can honestly say that Martin's influence on me and my family has already helped my life improve beyond what seemed possible 18 months ago.
