I can’t complain about this surgery, at times it can be abit hit and miss with the receptionist, and this was before covid. But I understand that they are stretched. The appointment booking system has changed since covid, it used to be so easy when it was all online, hopefully one day it will go back. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to reduce the message at the beginning of the phone call before it puts you through to the receptionist. It’s 90seconds long. Very frustrating when you want to make a quick call now you can’t do it online anymore. It’s really clean, laid out well for covid. The nurses are so patient with me when I have my bloods taken. Nurse Khan in particular is amazing at taking bloods. The doctors are so nice and kind (with the exception of the male doctor who is a practice partner ). It’s a shame doctor Miller and Gale have left, they were great doctors, it doesn’t seem like they’ve been able to replace them yet though so appointments are thinner then before. I’ve heard horror stories about people not being able to contact their GP these last few months, but I haven’t had that issue with Kirkstall Lane.

I've had alot of hit and misses at this surgery, but have always had my health at first priority, I have unfortunately almost lost my life when a doctor mistaken septis shock as an anxiety attack and was suggested chocolate when I was going into a diabetic coma. However, since this I have been taken seriously at all appointments since which im gratful for. Dont listen to the reviews that say the receptionist aren't helpful or friendly. They have consistently over 4 years been super friendly and helpful

I've been with this surgery over 20 years, and have always had excellent service. Friendly and competent receptionists, nurses and doctors. I've had numerous physical and mental health issues over the years, and have several long term conditions now. Have always had effective, compassionate care. Dr Richards is solid gold.

I must complain in no uncertain terms regarding this issue. To be clear, my medication had been emailed to a pharmacy in in another city, since lockdown, as I have been trapped there, living with a family member, as I had been visiting them prior to lockdown (upon lockdown, I took advice and government recommendations to stay indoors with immediate effect, especially because of my diabetes putting me in a vulnerable position health-wise.) The prescriptions for essential diabetes medication has been emailed to the pharmacy each month since then, without issue. This month, however, since it did arrive at the usual time at pharmacy, I phoned your GP surgery to check on this and discovered, to my astonishment, that it had in fact been sent by post to the pharmacy . I asked the surgery staff answering the phone for help on several occasions in regards to this, as I needed the medication urgently, but apparently no one was able to do anything, due to the prescription having been already posted. Why on Earth it had been posted remains a disaster and a mystery to me - I was told that one staff member had had trouble with an access on computer (as you can see the email forwarded here - but this is no reason to put my life in danger. Surely the staff member could have alerted someone else or referred the situation to someone able to send emails? In the third decade of this millennium, not to mention in the lockdown situation where health is a supreme issue, this treatment and total lack of care or concern is utterly unacceptable, as is a reliance on using the postal service when it’s entirety possible and indeed normal not to do so. I appreciate the severe and possibly life threatening implications of posting diabetes medication prescription information, which at the very least takes up to three working days (and in this case, more), the result of which has been that I have been without any medication for one week. In fact, it still isn’t in my hands after a week.
