Usually love this place and a frequent visitor, however my NYE experience was rather different. Was told I would have to wait an hour when placing the order which was fine, it’s a busy evening. However I arrived and waited out in the freezing cold waiting for my order for 1 hour 45 minutes along with many others. Very understaffed and overwhelmed with the demand, no one knew what was going on. When my food was finally ready, half of the order was missing and one dish was incorrect. Very disappointing as the team there could not provide an accurate time to expect the food to be ready. People who had ordered after me got their takeaway before me but had similar problems with missing meals. I’m sure this is a one off but I would expect a restaurant as popular as this to be well prepared.

Very tasty but disappointed with the ice cream portion size. A big bowl but just one scoop. But delicious. Set menu for 32 with 3 people sharing.

This is the 1st time I have been to Sukhothai after hearing rave reviews from Good Food Guides and family too. The sticky rice was poorly presented and the Green Thai Curry was a little too watery for my liking and most of the staff seemed too busy to take our orders for drinks and the bar man in particular never smiled and was quite stone faced the whole time, I asked him if some empty glasses could be taken away and he just mumbled something and walked away which was extremely rude and spoiled my experience altogether. To sum it up I don't think I would be returning and think I'll stick to Chaopraya in which the service, presentation and attentiveness are truly faultless.
